My setting: 1080p on PC with Keyboard and i7 8700k, RTX 2070 S I wouldn't buy it now, I'd wait 6-12 months and re-evaluate your decision then based on if the game has been substatially improved tbh. If good depth gets added to the game along with vast AI improvement and bug fixes it'll get a lot better. All of this said I think it has the potential to become amazing with more development time, there's a great foundation of a city to build upon here and improve for sure. It's difficult to believe that 7 or so years has resulted in this. "As wide as an ocean but as shallow as a puddle" The game feels like a lot of smoke and mirrors.

Unfortunately for PS4 and Xbox One players they probably won't get to experience that. + The visuals and spectacle of the world itself when there are no bugs and you're playing on a PC on medium to high-ish settings is awesome. The RPG elements of the game are pretty lacking - Vehicle physics are trash, they seem to just pivot about the centre - There's a multitude of general glitches and bugs currently. Cops spawn and disappear out of nowhere and don't seem to be actually capable of persuing you. Doesn't seem to be any vehicle-driving AI at all, just hardcoded paths which are followed. Really makes interactions with other characters in the game feel immersion-breaking based on their dumb/non-believeable reactions to what is happening around them. Super dumb or even nonexistent AI with enemies, NPCs, cops, etc. Pretty quiet feeling open world outside of quests which doesn't have a lot of things to interact with in it. Pretty quiet feeling open world outside It's honestly a joke that this has a critic average of 90 at release day given the state it's in.

It's honestly a joke that this has a critic average of 90 at release day given the state it's in. You HAD to know this was next-gen material, I did. Both Fallout 4 and Skyrim struggled on all those machines and look at Skyrim, like 4 people (NPCs) in Whiterun, whereas on any corner of Night City, there's like 100. Now, I'll add one more thing, as an owener of the PS3, PS4 Pro, Xbox One & Xbox One X, you had to see this coming. They should have just said, "it's a 'next-gen' game, one can play it on the older systems but it won't run well." If they did that they'd have been in the clear. That said, what CDPR did by telling people that "it runs 'suprisingly well' on PS4 & Xbox One" was beyond sleazy. I can't tell you how beautiful and fun it's been. I'd call Cyberpunk 2077 a fusion of Grand Theft Auto with the Terminator/Matrix/Blade Runner. I'm not even doing the main mission I've spent 15 hours (since install) wandering, helping the cops kill cyber-psychos, rescuing citizens and making bank.

I know that it is 1) difficult to get one (bots/scalpers) and 2) pricey $533 USD for a new console during the destruction of the US economy and middle class has priced many out of the next-generation experience.

If you want to match next gen consoles, then get a gaming PC with a RTX 2060 or better. It is so easy to get into PC gaming today. They wish they could have the same experience. I feel bad for the console gamers, and I can understand why they would come to the PC review and try to knock it down too.

#Cyberpunk 2077 drivers#

As for stability, I've played 6 hour segments without issue after upgrading graphics drivers and the game to 1.04. The game is garbage on consoles due to their low power and lack of optimization, but none of that applies to the PC version at this point. It is an experience like playing Doom, Quake, Half-life, System Shock 1/2, or Deus Ex for the first time.

You need the masses of NPCs walking around and the settings at Ultra to make the game feel like a living environment. Unfortunately, that also means that due to the effects and city density a beefy system is needed to run the game in a fashion that will provide the amazing feeling the environment can provide. There is no game that can be compared to it at this point. It is an amazing experience to drive around the city as the day/night cycle transitions from day to night. The sound design for the game is amazing. This is the first cyberpunk game where the environment is more than a background. There are no other games that have so many layers of city to explore.
